Are you kidding me? We want you there. There was a time in our last group when we had one couple that was 50+ and the rest were less than 35. Like you, they felt a little strange at first, but they invited some of their friends and we all enjoyed the mixed age groups.

I think we all learned to learn from each other, and we were better off for sticking it out. The Gospel enables us to move beyond our natural affinities. I think that if Paul were alive today writing Galatians 3 he would have included something about the "generation gap" in with there being no slave or free man or women in Christ. He also might tell an older pastor not to let the young guys look down on him in a similar way to how he talked to Timothy about being young.

Youth is an idol in our culture and we would do well to cast it out and embrace the embodied existence that God has given us while looking forward to the time when our bodies will be made whole.

>> I enjoyed being with all of you at small group last night. Thanks Marla for your hospitality! I think everyone (the ladies at least) liked doing breakfast so much that we decided to do that again next week. Marla offered to do the main dish so if the others just want to reply to this e-mail with the sides, etc. that should take care of it. If someone would like to do paper goods that would be helpful. Marla, do we need juice again, or was there enough leftover that we wanted to save? If anyone ever needs a week off, i think we have enough people that there should be plenty of food so don't worry if you can't bring something every week.

>> Thanks everyone for your willingness and enthusiasm to serve each other.
