Just heard from Heath!  He is settled and well and they just completed the first day of the conference.  He can get wireless internet for 30 minutes for $1 so we actually just Skyped.  It was really clear and he carried the laptop around and showed us all around his hotel.  It looked nice and it was really pretty outside.  He seemed in great spirits.
